GPR
Winter 2005
The data presented from the first GPR test run in early March on Half Moon Lake was collected with a pulseEKKO 100 GPR system (100MHz). The antennae were secured on a toboggan which was towed as the data was collected. The profiles were processed (trace-to-trace average, down-the-trace average, dewow and Automatic Gain Control) and plotted (wiggle trace format) using pulseEKKO software.

Summer 2005
The data presented from the summer gpr test runs in June were also collected with a pulseEKKO 100 GPR system (50, 100, and 200MHz). The antennae were secured in a inflatable "party barge" that was towed 10-15 meters behind a metal boat as the data was collected in the boat. The profiles were processed (trace-to-trace average, down-the-trace average, dewow and Automatic Gain Control) and plotted (wiggle trace format) using pulseEKKO software.
BATHYMETRIC MAPPING
To develop the bathymetric map over 3000 depth measurements were taken over the entirety of Half Moon Lake. A sixteen foot pole vault pole, along with a 7 foot pole was used to measure each depth because our sonar depth finder proved to be extremely inaccurate due. Driving around the lake in an inflatable Zodiac boat, the measurements were taken and immediately recorded in the GPS system from the data dictionary we created. The "poling" of the lake took numerous days out on the lake and the data will eventually be transferred into GPS Pathfinder Office 2.80 and exported into ArcMap. In the future a TIN and DEM will be constructed in ArcMap to aid in creating the finalized Bathymetric Map of Half Moon Lake.
