If you are looking to get more information on proper nutrition, inury prevention and basic help in training for a half or full marathon then this is the class for you. This is the same class that is offered to UWEC students!

Tuesday Lectures  7-7:50 am or 5:30-6:20 pm

Attend either lecture each week.

Saturday Morning Runs Check-in 8:00 am starting from ZORN ARENA and last until you are done!  Varies by distance.

Run the bridges of the Eau Claire Half or Full Marathon on May!

Have you ever wanted to complete a half marathon but don't know where to start? Have you wondered if you could step up to longer distances? Need some help?

Then sign up to come to a training program offered by UWEC Continuing Education!

(Students can sign up for the class through their regular registration)

Each Saturday morning at 8:00 am there will be a group run along the city trails. Each week we will increase distance, based on your goals, in preparation of running a half marathon or marathon near the end of the semester. The Eau Claire Marathon runs right through campus and is a great race to prepare for through this class.

Week 4 Strength and Cross Training
Week 5 Growth Mindset and Self-Motivation
Week 6 Physiology
Week 7 Fads versus “tried and true”
Week 8 SPRING BREAK (Runs rescheduled)
Week 9 SPRING BREAK (Runs Rescheduled)
Week 10 One month; visualization and self-awareness
Week 11 Cross training-hydro
Week 12 Mental training
Week 13 One week countdown.

*We WILL be around doing runs over spring break, but these are not required. Instead we will offer a Thursday run before break and a Sunday run at the end of break.
