Study Abroad
I believe learning about the world, making connections between what is learned inside and outside the classroom, and experiencing new viewpoints are critical to a university education. To this end, here is more information about study abroad opportunities.
My main research interest is in noncommutative algebra. More specifically, I am interested in finding the irreducible representations of homogeneous components of algebras associated with directed graphs under the action of their automorphism groups (see here and here and the Papers link below). This work also has led to a nice class of examples of algebras associated with generalized layered graphs (cited in this paper). One thing that I enjoy about working in this area is that it entails using some algebraic combinatorics and representation theory. Another interest of mine is the mathematics in other cultures, especially the Inca and Maya.
