Music Therapy students study four academic years on campus. Each of the final four semesters on campus includes coursework that involves a weekly part-time clinical practicum in which the student is assigned to provide supervised music therapy treatment for an individual client or group at a community facility or in our on-campus music therapy clinic.
Following completion of all on-campus requirements for graduation, the student completes a six-month internship in an AMTA approved music therapy clinical training facility prior to receiving the degree. Upon graduation, the student is eligible to take the national board examination administered by the Certification Board for Music Therapists in order to become a Music Therapist-Board Certified.
