These data support H13: Online hegemony usage will be higher the more they rate toward the masculine end of the gender scale. Gender, like hegemony, is a social construction. All of the 137 respondents were categorized by gender based on their responses to the 30-item "short form" of the Bem Sex-Role Inventory. The "androgynous" people scored high both on masculine and feminine items. The "undifferentiated" people, by contrast, scored low both on masculine and feminine items.
