We Started in Flagstaff, Arizona with a 9:20 am arrival at Wupatki National Monument. Here we looked at ruins from the Sinagua Indians. After Wupatki, we traveled to Bonito Lava Flow Trail and arrived about 11:00 pm. Bonito Lava Flow at the base of Sunset Crater has both Aa and Pahoehoe lava present. To learn more about Sunset Crater the group traveled to the visitor’s center just a few miles down the road. After finishing at Sunset Crater we traveled to Walnut Canyon and arrived around 1:20 pm. Walnut Canyon was also settled by Sinagua Indians sometime around 1125 A.D. The cliff dwellings from this time are still visible today. At 4:20 pm, we arrived at the Grand Canyon just in time to watch the sunset over this magnificent canyon. After the sun had set on this beautiful landscape the group traveled to Page, Arizona for some much needed food and sleep.
