On average, Americans watch 4 hours of TV per day. The places they see on TV and in the movies influence how they think about real landscapes. The movie and TV industries are powerful shapers of landscape likes and dislikes.
Although only 15 percent of all "shooting" takes place away from the front lot (inside the movie studios), the back lot provides the physical setting for the "action."
