CHICAGO MARATHON

17 Miles into the Chicago Marathon

JERRY LAWSON HEADS UP THE LEAD PACK

 TODD WILLIAMS

First Signs of Fatigue

The lead pack pushes on without rabbits in the 17th mile. Lawson (2) shares the lead with Maturi (off picture to the right).

Although the pace setters set a steady and fast clip, the fatigue of 16 miles at 4:54 pace is quite evident in the faces of the racers left to compete over the final 10 miles.

Look at Khannouchi (10), does he look like he is ready to run 47:50 for the remaining 10 miles?

Todd Williams gets the brief company of Dr. Leonid Shvetson who had fallen from the lead pack. Up to this point Williams had been gaining on the lead pack still some 300 meters ahead.
