A fun learning experience for both sides of the leash!

The PAWS Philosophy

This facility concentrates on the relationship between the dog and owner. We believe that training cannot take place without a special commitment of the owner to the dog and the dog's confidence and trust in the owner.

From our puppy training to our agility classes, we emphasize this bond. We require the use of food in our training to aid in positive reinforcement. The dog should see you as someone who delievers rewards for acceptable behavior, rather than punishment for unacceptable or unwanted behavior.

We firmly believe in the use of the Gentle Leader Head Collar. While we do not require that our clients utilize this collar, we do stress that this is one of the most helpful training tools we have seen in a long time. It allows the owner to gain control or attention of their dog with just slight pressure versus the tug-of-war with a regular leash or choke collar.

Instructors

Our instructors have from five to fifteen years of experience in training puppies and dogs. We encourage questions and comments during training. We want you to be able to take what you learned in class and apply it outside of class and beyond graduation. The goal of our instructors is to assist you in any way possible in getting your dog to complete the tasks and training requirements to make them successful in class.
