Baroque & Modern Projects
The Chamber Orchestra performs two concerts every year. In the fall semester, we work on a baroque project, a class designed to learn “historically informed performance practice”. In other words, we perform music from the baroque and classical periods employing the many different stylistic and technical aspects used in each particular era, as well as the individual features in the music of each European country. In the spring semester, we work on music by romantic and twentieth century composers. This project explores technical aspects of advance string playing.
