The Baroque Suite

 


The Baroque Suite Project served to enhance the students’ understanding of the form and characteristics of the suite.  This understanding proved essential to accomplish an accurate performance of what is known as “historically informed performance practice” of the suite. In this project we worked with two different compositions from the baroque period, Abdelazer (The Moor’s Revenge) by English composer Henry Purcell, and the Concert pour Quatre Parties de Viols by french composer Marc-Antoine Charpentier. The students did un travail fantastique!
