Welcome!

As the Head of Special Collections and University Archivist at the University of Wisconsin--Eau Claire, I am responsible for overseeing the preservation of the university's historic records and the management of current records. I also provide students, genealogists, and other researchers with access to all materials housed in Special Collections. These include:

  • Public records of Buffalo, Chippewa, Clark, Eau Claire, Taylor, and Rusk Counties
  • Personal papers and organizational records created by families and institutions of Chippewa Valley's past
  • Official and unofficial records of the University of Wisconsin--Eau Claire, including photographs and student publications
  • McIntyre Library's rare book collection, consisting largely of first edition American and British fiction
  • McIntyre Library's local history book collection, which includes Eau Claire city directories back to 1880
  • Historic maps of the Chippewa Valley, including Sanborn Maps and platbooks

My research interests include the role of archives on college and university campuses, small archives management, primary source research in undergraduate education, and Chinese restaurants in Wisconsin.
