The promise of SOA is that the marginal cost of the nth application will be zero because all the software needed has already been developed. The only thing necessary for a new application, is orchestration. If businesses are to keep IT budgets under control, they must seriously look into options to reduce redundancy and effeciency in IT. One possible way is Service Oriented Architecture.
Please consider learning more about SOA so that you are a more marketable information systems graduate. The best way to not become obsolete is to read periodicals if for no other reason than to learn acronyms. More than likely, service oriented architecture will come up in the workplace.
