Christina in Artillery Crater

Along with measuring crater density in quarter hectare plots, I also surveyed surface microtopgraphy as a means of assessing disturbance on the Verdun battlefield. In this image Christina is standing in a somewhat large artillery crater within a sea of other overlapping craters. This site was in an area that was mercilessly pounded by millions of artillery rounds.
