Text Box: Possible 750 lb bomb crater

Not all craters are equal

This is a fairly large crater near hill 700. One of the veterans believes it came from a 750 lb bomb, delivered by a tactical air strike. One can actually get an idea of the aircraft approach route by close examination of the detritus lip on these craters. Christina is on the other side of the crater from me holding a sonic measuring device in order to establish crater diameter. Note the tall, lush grass growing in the crater bottom—very opposite of the situation in Verdun, France.
