Discover Mt. Everest

Welcome

Welcome Mrs. Brahan's and Ms. Haese's 5th grade readers. Today you are going to explore Mt. Everest. The next book you will read is Everest Book Two: The Climb by Gordon Korman. This book talks in depth about climbing Mt. Everest. The purpose of this activity is to introduce you to Mt. Everest and to spark your interest about the book.

First, everyone will need to fill out a KWL sheet about Mt. Everest. KWL stands for what you Know, what you Want to Learn, and what you Learned about Mt. Everest at the end of this unit.

Next you will use this WebQuest to search in other sites to answer the questions on your worksheet.

Finally, at the end of class we will share what we have learned about Mt. Everest.

Before we start we are all going to go to the top of Mt. Everest and have a look around at this magnificent mountain that we are about to explore. Click here.
