IS-240 Course Objectives

Upon completing IS 240, students are to be able to:
  1. Identify and explain the components of an information system
  2. Explain the impact of information systems on business activities
  3. Apply a common project process to the development of systems
  4. Use information systems to ethically solve problems and make decisions
  5. Differentiate information systems concepts and vocabulary
  6. Apply collaborative skills to produce a team project proposal
  7. Utilize a variety of personal productivity software

Rationale: We deal with business data  and processes, document them, model them, and automate them; so we must be able to decompose them, analyze them, assess their effectiveness, and create usable information from them.

Rationale: must be able to read/write a script, handle hardware, use/configure applications
