EDMT 380-002 Main Page
Fall 2005
The following is a compilation of the projects I have completed for EDMT (Educational Media and Technology) 380 at the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire. Four assignments were required, while everyone had to choose some elective projects totaling at least 150 points.
Required Assignments
Evaluation Assignment (ITV/Video) - I have evaluated an instructional video discussing the topic of oxygen. This video can be used for teaching science.
Treasure Hunt (Web Instructional Strategy) - I have created a treasure hunt surrounding the topic of weather. This treasure hunt can be used in a science classroom as a closure to the weather unit, or a project the students complete throughout the unit's duration.
DTP Redesign - I have redesigned a handout I made in a chemistry class explaining an experiment. Here, you can see the original handout, as well as the updates and revisions I have added to make it aesthetically pleasing!
Instructional Strategies - This is a list of mostly technology-based instructional strategies currently used in school curriculums. Included in the list, you will find a description of each strategy and some pros and cons of using them in your classroom!
Elective Assignments
ITV/Video Integration - This lesson utilizes the video I evaluated for my evaluation assignment. Part of the video is used to enforce a topic.
Topic Hotlist - This is a topic hotlist created around the Solar System. I have listed some websites that would be useful for certain topics within a Solar System unit. Students can use this to enforce the concepts we have studied, as well as to go beyond what we have covered.
Spreadsheets in the Classroom - This is a lesson plan on population density using spreadsheets. Students will be comparing total population with population density.
DTP in the Classroom - This is an activity I would use to cultimate a unit about historical fiction. Students would be expected to choose their favorite author and create a brochure that could be handed out at a presentation. A desktop publisher would be used.
Critique/Commentary 2 - This is a critique of Chapter 2 of Visual Literacy by Lynell Burmark. The chapter discusses graphics.
Critique/Commentary 5 - This is a critique of Chapter 5 of Visual Literacy Lynell Burmark. The chapter discusses the appearance of a classroom.
Copyright Critique/Commentary - This is a critique of copyright and fair use.
