Kelly S. Williams, of 1768 186th St. Chippewa Falls, Wis. was accused of embezzlement, forgery and incorrect identification in court on Tuesday in which she signed a felony signature bond of $10,000.

According to the criminal complaint:

Investigators received a theft report from the owner of Area Financial Services on Harvest Lane, Altoona, Dennis Dvoracek. Dvoracek reported that he had found information showing that Williams had stolen a significant amount of money from his business in her time as an employee.

Dvoracek explained that he discovered Williams had issued a number of checks to herself on the business’ checking account without consent. Each of those checks had been signed by the forged signature of Davoracek’s son, Christopher Dvoracek.

The amount of the checks stolen came to an amount of $205, 109.75.

On Jan. 4, 2008, Williams provided Dvoracek with a check made payable to Area Financial Services in the amount of $30,500. When Dvoracek asked Williams why she was giving him this check she said, “Because I had taken some.”

Williams is scheduled to reappear in court for a hearing on June 18, 2008.

Bradley  C. Armstrong, 53,  of 299 Pine Drive, Altoona plead guilty on May 2 to his 10th drunk driving offense  and was sentenced to 18 months in prison and 4 ½ years of supervision after he is released.

The conditions of his supervision after serving his jail time include no alcohol or entering bars and he must maintain full-time employment. In addition, his license will be revoked for three years.

According to the criminal complaint:

On Jan. 18 2008 a state trooper pulled Armstrong over for driving erratically on Hastings Way in Eau Claire in which he nearly hit a snow bank when exiting.

The state trooper reported smelling alcohol coming from inside the vehicle and noticed Armstrong’s eyes were bloodshot as well as his speech being slurred.

Armstrong told the trooper he was coming from Grizzly’s bar and restaurant and did not have a valid driver’s license.

After being taken to Luther Hospital, his blood-alcohol level was taken and it was 0.25.

Armstrong had previously been sentenced in Aug. 2006 to three years of prison and three years of supervision therefore he will serve a total of 4 ½ years in prison and 7 ½ years of supervision.

Joshua A. Bonk of 3420 110th St., Hallie, Wis., pleaded guilty to one count of obstructing an officer in Eau Claire Circuit Court on 1 May 2008. One count of disorderly conduct, one count of possession of marijuana and one count of felony bail jumping were dismissed due to the guilty plea.  

According to the criminal complaint:

Around midnight on 20 April 2007 police were sent out on a report of a disorderly man, who was later confirmed as Bonk, at Shenanigan’s bar on Water St. Police had been advised that Bonk, 22, had become upset when Shenanigan’s bouncers asked him to leave upon which Bonk started kicking and hitting the door to the bar.

Officer Jentzsch, who arrived to the scene, located Bonk walking on Water St. But when they made eye contact with him Bonk took off running. Officer Jentzsch pursued him and intstructed him to stop running as he ran through a parking lot and across the street.At one point Bonk fell over and also lost one of his shoes. Officer Jentzsch caught up to Bonk and handcuffed him.

Officer Jentzch reported that he transported Bonk to jail, where he refused to answer any booking questions. When a search was conducted on Bonk, a small plastic baggie was found in his pack of cigarettes in which the contents were later identified as marijuana.

A review of Clerk of Courts records revealed that the defendant signed a felony signature bond in Chippewa County Circuit Court on 19 March 2007. This bond, which was in effect at the time of the incident, prohibits the defendant from engaging in any further criminal conduct.
