Treasure Hunt

Aimed at the seventh or eighth grade level, this treasure hunt would be ideal within the General Science content area focusing on the periodic table. With this treasure hunt, students will become more familiar with the periodic table and its various elements. The periodic table can be rather daunting to a student who has never seen it before, so this treasure hunt is designed to encourage students not to be so intimidated.

For this introductory lesson, the instructor will question the students' prior knowledge of the periodic table by discussing how the different elements are grouped on the periodic table. After this initial conversation, students will be given the treasure hunt as a task to help assist in their learning about the periodic table and its various elements.
