Interview
Brochure

Desktop Publishing is the process of using a computer and desktop publishing software to create brochures and other publications. These products incorporate text, images, and other graphic enhancements while following the design principles of, proximity, alignment, repetition, and contrast.

There are two artifacts displayed on this page from the desktop publishing component of EDMT 285. The first one was the result of an interview with a profession teacher on how they used computers and technology in their classroom. In groups, we brainstormed a list of questions to ask the interviewees and collaborated with more classmates to make a master list. EDMT 285 is designed to prepare future educators the use of computers in a teaching career. The goal of the Interview Assignment was to answer the question, How do educators presently incorporate technology into their teaching and classroom? I set out to answer this question by interviewing my aunt, Lois Ansay, a Middle School Science teacher at Argentine Middle School in Kansas City, Kansas. This assignment not only gave me insight on the use of technology in the classroom, but also was a chance for me to demonsrate my command of a word processing application, Microsoft Word.

The second artifact was a brochure using Microsoft Publishing. It is an example of a project I would assign to my future students. I would have them research Wisconsin and creatively design a brochure.
