Mythical Creatures Activity
Ferocious ogres. Green elves with mossy hair. Beautiful fairies with tiny feet. The giants. The centaur. These are some of the mythical creatures encountered in the book, Ella Enchanted. The book gives descriptions of these magical creatures, but what do you think they look like? How do you imagine them while you are reading this book? Here is an activity that allows the reader to create a mythical creature that Ella encounters throughout the book.

Anagram Activity
An anagram is a word whose letters are rearranged to form a new word. In the book, Ella Enchanted, Ella attends the festive ball to try to capture the heart of Prince Char. Disguised in elegant and beautiful attire and adorned with a mask, Char asks Ella what is her name. Ella responds with the answer of Lela so that she doesn’t give away her presence at the ball. Lela is an anagram for the name Ella. She did not want her identity to be revealed at the ball especially because her evil step family was present.
