Content

• Re-calling my previous learning and knowledge on sound, the accuracy of the content of the video seems very reliable.
• The Teacher Guide recommends this video for grades K-4, which is appropriate, but I personally would use it more for grades 2-4.
• There is no inappropriate use of language or suggestion of sexuality, smoking, or alcohol/drug use.
  

Presentation

• A five-page teacher's guide pamphlet is included with the video. It includes suggestions on pre and post viewing discussion of the video, vocabulary definitions of new words introduced, follow-up activities and experiments, and internet resources to get more information on the subject of sound or curriculum ideas to tie in with the video.
• Organization of the video is very easy to follow. It is broken down into two different sections, with a review at the end of each. The quality of the video is good. Sound production is excellent, but the videography is lacking a little. Some visual examples of showing the parts of sound could have been more clearly interpreted.
• Refreshing to see and have the video be narrated by a younger girl. Children can relate more to someone their age. Also having the experiments or examples preformed by elementary age students reinforces your students they can perform the same tasks.
  

Learning

This video was produced for classroom use. There was text on the screen of the main vocabulary words of sound. The video was broken down into two different sections, with a short review at the end of each section, which would allow a teacher to pause and discuss or allow students to fill in their worksheet and correct their answers from the review. There is also a final review of the entire video at the end, which reinforces all the major points of sound. Video gives numerous examples for the students to understand the concepts of sound. They also give ideas of experiments the teacher can perform with the students

Credibility and Source of Bias

The video seems to be very credible. Schlessinger Media is a division of the Library Video Company. The website is mainly to sell their video products, but includes videos, cd-rom, DVDs and curriculum to accompany. Many of the videos come in set, such as this video, breaking down subjects into smaller parts. Upon viewing the credits there did not seem to be any sponsors that would have affected the content of the video.
